NorCham Minneapolis Kick-Off and Networking Event

NorCham Minneapolis is proud to kick-off our new brand and revived cultural chamber of commerce with a spring networking event for the Norwegian Constitution Day, May 17.

Meet for a fun and casual Thursday night happy hour—hors d’œuvres and open bar with beer, wine, and N/A options—and get to know other Nordic-interested professionals in the Twin Cities metro. Learn more about NorCham Minneapolis and how you can get involved.

The Honorable Hårek Elvenes, a member of the Storting (Norwegian Parliament), will be in attendance to talk with NorCham Members ahead of his keynote address at the Syttende Mai Minnesota Banquet at Norway House the following evening.

Hårek Elvenes has been a member of Parliament for the Conservative Party (Høyre) since 2013. He is the party’s spokesperson on defense policy, and has been a member of the Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and Defense since 2017. Elvenes served as a member of NATO’s Parliamentary Assembly From 2017-2021, and as a member of the Standing Committee on Justice from 2013-2017. Before he became a member of Parliament, Elvenes was the leader of the Conservative Party of the Akershus county. He has attended the Officer Candidate Course, studied engineering at The Norwegian DefenSe University College, studied Business Economy at The Norwegian Business School, and has an MBA from the Norwegian School of Economics. He has served as officer in the Combat Engineer Battalion in the Brigade North, and has led The Norwegian Defense Estates Agency in Northern Norway.
