Parents and children ages 2 to 4 are welcome to join a special Matfestivalen session of Kari’s Barnehage. Joining with families currently enrolled for the Fall 2024 weekly series, visitors will do a fun cookie decorating activity.
Barnehage is a weekly chance to sing, play, and create with teacher Kari Stern at Norway House while learning Norwegian! Using immersion techniques (using Norwegian as the primary language in class) children make direct linguistic connections to items and actions without translating.
Registration for the Spring 2025 session of Kari’s Barnehage will be opened by the date of this special session.

A part of Matfestivalen, a collaboration of Norway House and Mindekirken. Lutefiskfestivalen at Norway House is the kickoff event, and Mindekirken’s iconic annual Lutefisk Dinner closes it out. In between, we highlight both traditional and modern Norwegian food culture beyond the infamous lutefisk.
